The PENDYW project continues at full speed! Before going on summer break, PENDYW project partners met in Olhão, Portugal, hosted by our partner/member organisation MOJU. From the 1st to 2nd of August, on behalf of YEU, our Secretary General Selin Gürlemez joined the PENDYW Transnational Partners’ Meeting(TPM) in Olhão, where MOJU is based.
PENDYW – “Promoting Equality and Non-Discrimination in Youth Work” aims to enhance youth participation, combat social exclusion and eradicate discrimination, focusing on marginalised groups. The consortium consists of 6 partners from 5 different countries: YEU from Belgium, MOJU from Portugal, Y-E-N and CCF from France, CGE from Germany, and CID from North Macedonia.
Besides targeting youngsters with fewer opportunities, the project is intended for youth organisations and youth workers, with the aim of training them to recognize and contrast the multiple forms of discrimination that young people experience on a daily basis. Moreover, the project seeks to strengthen the capacity of youth trainers to support young people as active actors in all decision-making processes.
In the span of the 2-days meeting, the partners discussed the ongoing work, the research carried out by CGE and CCF, and the draft publication that will be published in the upcoming period. The upcoming training courses (TC) and their dates are also discussed among the partners under the leadership of CID, together with the dissemination strategy led by MOJU.
Besides the project and its implementation, the partners also visited two different offices of MOJU and witnessed the local impact of the organisation in Olhão. Additionally, the project partners also had the opportunity to discover Portuguese culture thanks to the host organisation, MOJU and its staff.
