On November 21st 2023, YEU is organising an International Conference of our project called Place Making 4 Inclusion – reviving active citizenship for reshaping the societies (PM4I), which has gathered young people from 6 different countries around Europe to discuss placemaking methodologies and inclusion. The International Conference will allow space for project partners and participants to share our journey by presenting the project, its activities and outcomes including our PM4I tools and policy recommendations directed at EU level. We are likewise inviting keynote speakers on the topics of placemaking, youth and inclusion to share their knowledge and experience with our participants and guests for creating better cities in the future. During the event, you will also have the opportunity to ask questions and share the initiatives of your organisation on the topics of placemaking and inclusion as well as network with like minded souls.
About the project:
“Place Making 4 Inclusion – reviving active citizenship for reshaping the societies” is a project aiming to empower youth work providers and youth organisations by using the placemaking methodology and practices to ensure social inclusion of young people of diverse backgrounds in jointly shaping the local communities. The project consists of 7 partner organisations coming from 6 different countries including Belgium, Germany, Norway, Spain, Italy and Greece. Throughout the project, the partners have co-created a PM4I Competence Framework and innovative tools such as our Cookbook, Augmented Reality App and E-Learning Platform offering rich opportunities for youth workers and young people to learn about, test and adapt placemaking in their local communities. Moreover, we have established an Ambassadors’ Network of local placemakers to facilitate and co-create eco-systems for placemaking methodological approach in youth work and non-formal education. The project is funded by the European Commission under its Erasmus+ programme.
