The Erasmus+ project Y-AGORA – Youth Participation through Participatory Democracy and Community Engagement continues to strengthen cooperation between partner organisations from Belgium and the Western Balkans while promoting active citizenship, participatory democracy, and meaningful youth participation through international learning activities and local initiatives.
From 1 to 4 June 2026, project partners met in Belgrade, Serbia, for an international training course and the second Transnational Project Meeting (TPM2).
The training brought together youth workers, project coordinators, educators, and youth leaders from the partner countries. Through interactive workshops, group discussions, and practical activities, participants explored participatory democracy methods, advocacy, and facilitation techniques that can be used to encourage young people’s involvement in decision-making processes. The programme also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, share good practices, and prepare for the implementation of local project activities.
Following the training, representatives of all partner organisations held the second Transnational Project Meeting, where they reviewed the progress achieved during the first implementation period and discussed the next phases of the project. Partners evaluated the activities carried out so far, coordinated upcoming local initiatives, discussed communication and dissemination activities, and planned the project’s financial and administrative management.
The next phase of the project will focus on organising local activities that promote youth participation and active citizenship, strengthening cooperation among partner organisations, and developing democratic action plans that respond to the needs of local communities.
By combining international cooperation, capacity building, and community engagement, Y-AGORA continues to support youth workers and organisations in creating more inclusive opportunities for young people to actively participate in democratic life.
