The Civil Life Association assembled its volunteers this month to beautify underprivileged schools as part of the “National Sovereignty and Children’s Day” that our country’s founder, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, gave to all children around the world. We carried out renovation work in many schools in many different cities this year too as part of the “Şehirden Çıktım Köye” project, which we carried out every year around children’s day.
We sought to bring together the city’s underprivileged children with our volunteers, who are university students in their respective cities, in order to give back to society, foster dialogue, and provide equitable opportunity. We have created education modules suitable for children and their age in our project, which this year’s theme is the environment, and we hope to contribute to making them more environmentally conscious individuals.
Our volunteers participated in various games and sports activities with the students, organized recycling activities, planted saplings, and had the opportunity to interact in addition to reducing the physical deficiencies of the schools. They have the chance to improve their environmental consciousness at a young age and were a part of a wonderful day.
The nationwide program “Şehirden Çıktım Köye” , which has a different subject every year, strives to offer children fresh experiences in keeping with the established topics and to leave positive impacts on children through its stations that teach while having fun. Contributing to a better understanding of the world they live in and supporting the development of their imaginations in line with their personal interests and abilities are among the program’s objectives in the project where university youth and children come together; within the framework of themes such as Riddle in the Universe and Being a Child in the Digital World, contributing to a better understanding of the world they live in and supporting the development of their imaginations in line with their personal interests.
