New faces in the YEU Office
YEU International has two new Projects Assistants, Rita Marques and Maya Tenoshvili, expanding virtually our Brussels Office to Portugal and Greece.
Born and raised in Oeiras, Lisbon, Rita Marques is as Portuguese as it can get. She studied International Relations in Lisbon and, in 2017, moved to Odense to pursue her MSSc in International Security and Law, at the University of Southern Denmark. She has worked with children and taught a German class at a University for the Elder in Lisbon. Driven by a passion for international law, human rights, equality, social inclusion and justice, Rita also researches human rights violations in Africa. Always in search of something new to learn, she speaks English and Portuguese fluently and has some knowledge of French, Spanish and German. May occasionally greet you in Danish. Rita loves most creative outlets and you can always find her doodles on the different million notebooks she carries around every day. A curious mind and a heart for service have led Rita to different volunteering experiences and, ultimately, to YEU. She will mainly be following with us the KID_Actions, EduSport and Plan B Projects.
Maya Tenoshvili is a child of Georgian migrants who moved to Greece in the mid-1990s and grew up on Halki, an island of around 200 inhabitants. At the age of 18 she moved to Athens to pursue her BA in International, European and Area Studies and later her MA in International Law and Diplomatic Studies, both at Panteion University. She then moved to Strasbourg where she acquired a M2 in International and Transnational Law from the University of Strasbourg. Her multicultural and multidisciplinary approach is accompanied by her ability to speak in Greek, Georgian, English, French, Russian and Spanish. Driven by curiosity, open-mindedness and the desire to do something which positively affects peoples’ lives, she believes that international youth organizations can make the world a better place. Having previous experience from positions at national authorities, the Council of Europe, research centers and in parallel voluntarily participating in several non-formal education activities, the path led her to YEU. Here, she will mainly be following the Brave New YOU-Reloaded and Plan B Projects. Maya will be handling the communication with our Member Organizations for our monthly newsmail and managing our social media as well.
Rita & Maya, welcome to our YEU family! 🙂
