We would like to remind you of a YEU format, to refresh your memory, and because we have something planned! You might remember our “Coffee With…” events. These are one-hour informal conversations with an inspirational professional, like an activist, a policymaker, or a youth representative, held online.
It is a way for YEU friends to meet each other online, to feel closer, to enjoy a cup of coffee together, and to discuss interesting topics with special guests. During the over 5 years that we have held these events, we have found that this initiative is a great way to connect youth and professionals, and together better understand the world of policymaking and democratic participation.
Guests are carefully chosen depending on their speciality and their involvement in highly relevant matters to youth and YEU’s strategic priorities. Each session is an opportunity to get to know an important leader in the youth field and beyond, and to ask them questions. After a conversation moderated by one of our PET members, the audience will have a dedicated time to directly address the guest.
By organising these events regularly, we aim to promote youth engagement by providing a platform for open dialogue and to encourage critical thinking and active citizenship among participants. We are reaching out now, as a way to start our campaign for our upcoming event: “Coffee with Kim van Sparrentak” on June 9th, at 14:00. Kim van Sparrentak is a Member of the European Parliament, chair of the interparliamentary group for LGBT, and active in digital policy. Her diverse involvement in policymaking is inspiring, and we look forward to this event. We will soon share more details and the registration.
