Agency for Development and Cooperation CEREBRA together with partners, the Center for Intercultural Dialogue (CID) and Youth for Exchange and Understanding (YEU), realized the training “Youth Work Recognition Through Self-Assessment” in the period from 12 to 17 January in Berovo.
The training gathered 15 participants who had a chance to hear about topics such as: what is youth work, what is the purpose of youth work, how to plan and implement workshops and other. Training was implemented with non-formal education methods where participants had the chance to share their experiences on each topic and participate in exercises where they experienced real life situations while practicing youth work.
The training „Youth Work Recognition Through Self-Assessment“ aimed at presenting the participants with basics of Youth Work as a profession in order to contribute to personal and social development of young people and provide them with tools necessary to implement quality youth work in their communities and by doing so contribute to Youth Work recognition in their countries.
Marko Kneževic, one of the participants, points out that the training was very interesting and useful and that the participants achieved excellent interconnection and synergy during the work for a short period of stay.
“We covered the topic of youth work, in which we learned what youth work is, how to improve it in our local community. The topics we covered are very important, because we will definitely be able to apply the acquired knowledge in order to contribute to the local community”, said Marko, adding that the “Counseling” session was the one he liked the most because they learned through the role-play how as youth workers they can help others around them and that the session triggered the emotions of the participants which gave it higher value.
