In the period of February and March, 2022 CID has implemented many activities encompassed in the project “(Local) Youth Participation Matters”.
Namely, the main purpose of the project is the (re)establishment of the Local Youth Councils and opening of the Youth centers in the 8 municipalities i.e. Kumanovo, Lipkovo, Tetovo, Tearce, Gostivar, Mavrovo and Rostushe, Struga, and Chair by following the example of the MultiКулти Youth center (Multikulti) .
For the reason that the main stakeholders of the project are the local self-governments, City Councils, youth party wings, and the young people from the local CSOs or informal groups of the target municipalities, the CID project team had meetings with the Mayors and other local self-government representatives who are appointed to work on the youth-related issues. We’ve visited the official representative office of the youth party wings, relevant for the target municipalities as well as the youth CSOs which is active in these municipalities.
The outcome of these meetings is the established cooperation with these stakeholders and the signing of the memorandum of understanding with the above-mentioned local self-governments, youth party wings, and local CSOs.
Furthermore, we have started with our networking events in each municipality separately. The first two networking events were held in Mavrovo and Rostushe and Gostivar. As part of these events, there were many representatives from the targeted stakeholders who got insights about the activities, policies, and processes encompassed within the project and the possible way to join them and to offer their contribution. In the following period, CID will continue with the networking events and other activities regarding this project implementation.
