2022 has just started, but it brought many changes in YEU already, especially as far as our head office is concerned. To start with, we would like to thank Tamara Gojkovic for all the amazing work, efforts, expertise and commitment she put into her time spent as YEU Secretary General. Also, we would like to wish her good luck for her new working adventure at the European Parliament.
The tragic and sudden passing of our friend and colleague Vladimir Mitrovic forced our Governing Board to appoint a new ad-interim Secretary General, which will be our former Vice-President Selin Gürlemez. Selin has reached the YEU team in Brussels and will bring all her experience, after years of commitment in the YEU family and in its board: good luck Selin! The YEU Governing Board has decided to pay tribute to Vlada, proclaiming him Honorary Secretary General of Youth for Exchange and Understanding: Vlada will be always with us, guiding and supporting our team from here on out, also formally.
Last but not least, we would also like to warmly welcome another new entry in the office, which is not a new entry in the YEU family though. Our PET member and Senior Trainer Murat Mislimi joined the head office in Brussels as Project and Event Officer: welcome home Murat! We would like to thank all the people that in this time of great – and often drastic – changes showed their closeness, affection, support and empathy, also by making brave and life-changing decisions: YEU is far more than a network and we are proving it more and more, every single day.
