We are delighted to share with you the participation of YEU’s Vice President, Daniela Correia, at the YFJ COMEM – European Youth Forum Council of Members, held in Berlin (Germany) on November 17th and 18th.
The COMEM is a Youth Forum’s appointment organised twice a year, to bring together young people representatives all over Europe and discuss diverse issues around youth rights and European democracy. YEU was present at COMEM as a full member of the YFJ.
Over these two days many issues were discussed among the 150 representatives of International Youth Non Governmental Organization (IYNGOs) and national youth councils (NYCs) of Member organisations came together to discuss, debate and agree on what is needed to do together to improve the lives of young people in Europe.
The key topics discussed were: youth participation in peace and security issues; protection of young people’s rights in restricted civic spaces; and learning mobility and the expansion of youth spaces in national contexts.
Also the exchange group of YFJ came together to discuss certain topics.
Moreover, the YFJ COMEM also gave member organisations the chance to extend their network and create valuable and cooperative relationships.
