The first stage of the “Youth for Sustainable Development” project organized by Ireli Public Union with the support of the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation has been completed.
Within the project held in Tovuz region, which is the Azerbaijan’s capital of youth, 30 young people from different regions of the country took part in various training sessions and workshops on identifying the team’s strengths and weaknesses, values youth participation in public life, community building, emotional intelligence, volunteering initiative and other topics.
Throughout the project, youth workers were trained to new exercises on non-formal education and its principles, research skills and data analysis in the regions. It should be noted that in the next stages of the project, young people will share their knowledge and experience with other young people in the format of training and meetings in their regions, and will also conduct surveys among young people in their communities. It is planned to study the needs and problems of the region’s youth through the results of the surveys, and to prepare a package of proposals in this direction.
It should be noted that the main purpose of the project “Youth for Sustainable Development” is to contribute to the development of the youth network in general by ensuring active citizenship in society, strengthening the soft skills of young people, and increasing initiatives for youth development in the regions. The project initially aims to cover a total of 15,000 young people from 23 cities and regions.
